    paid CAN$ 79 for a phone consult.

12 mins into scheduled call time no call from Visaplace.

i call them, go through two receptionists, inform of late scheduled call. told they informed consultant who is still on previous call, consultant told them they will call me in two mins.

23 mins into scheduled call time i call Visaplace again. go through two receptionists again. finally get “consultant”. they apologize.

they basically confirmed what i had already researched about TN and F1 student visas. could not offer concrete feedback about viability of doing both at same time except to say effectively “it will be fine”. Then offered TN service for CAN$2400.

Thanks for sharing such a nice information. One along with family can immigrate to Canada within few months under “Express Entry selection system” which is a complete electronic application processing system. The express entry has become the main and fastest driver of economic “immigration to Canada”. Canada Express entry is one of the most popular immigration systems globally adapted from Australian Express of interest system. Canadian Government is targeting a large number of skilled immigrants under this system in less time duration.

I spoke to a consultant from Visa Place yesterday . I called Visa place day before yesterday and i told the receptionist i would like to make an appointment to discuss my brothers visitor visa and receptionist made an appointment for next day. as i am in Alberta so it was over the phone. I was thinking it would be an attorney but it was just a consultant. I asked him many questions but i don’t feel like i got anything which i didn’t know about visitor visa. He just told me this is very good time to apply for visitor visa and many people are getting it right now. I asked him what is your success rate in visitor visa he said i can check online but i didn’t find it anywhere. I asked him questions about documents that what kind of documents we need to prepare and he said their legal team can tell me that if i go forward with them applying visa for my brother. i asked him questions about funds also but i wasn’t satisfied with the answers. Answers he gave me i already knew those but i wanted to talk to a specialist but it was just waste of of those $50 and time. i thought consultant wasn’t experienced much

To be quite honest Mandeep, you are better of contacting Immigration refugees and citizenship Canada at 1-888-2422100, follow the prompts and speak to a call centre rep. They have just as much info as an immigration consultant rep does. I recommend you download ACR call recorder App from your android or iPhone App market, its only $1.99 or something. When talking to a rep from IRCC, inform them that you are recording the conversation, ask them for their first name and employee ID and they’ll take you a lot more serious knowing that they are being recorded. Ask them for the latest Applications as every year they update the applications posted on line and make sure you download the latest release Version. This is very important as your application can get returned to you if you don’t use the latest updated application. Also ask which application guide is the one that suits your situation.

Also note that immigration consultants only attends college for 6 months to get accredited and or to possess their credentials. On most occasions whatever they know, you yourself can find out on the internet. Even though when you shop around for immigration Lawyer websites you think that it’ll be the Lawyer filling out your applications to be processed. Very incorrect. Almost all immigration firms, the lawyer will never talk to you, see you for a consultation or do any of your paper work. It is the immigration consultant working in that firm which does all your paper work. They charge you $4,500 just to submit a few applications for you to which case to be quite honest you can do on your own. Also, you have to ask yourself? Is $50 worth the drive to meet an immigration consultant to which case doesn’t know anything more than you should you do you research?? Absolutely not. Immigration firms use the tactic stating that if a well renowned institution fills out your paper work, you have a higher chance of your application being processed and or accepted. This is an outright lie. The immigration officer checking your application only is concerned with all documents being attached and nothing missing rather than where it comes from. There are also free community service immigration consultants to which case can meet you and help you for free to fil out 3 or 4 forms.

When I officially signed up for Visa Place, the rep I spoke with Miss Angelika Pavlou told me that If I was to sponsor my current spouse via express entry under the Federal Skilled Worker Program that her score would be 434 CRS points. She asked a few silly question and based on me stating that her English and French language skills were OK she made up a bogus Score of 434 CRS points to make me feel like she qualifies since the May 4rth draw was 423 CRS points. This was a sales tactic she used to rob me out of $2260,00 and to get me to sign up right away. I’ve attached a copy of the email she sent me down below for those who don’t believe me. Now when my spouse actually did the TEF and IElTS Test, her score was only 330CRS points. A genuine professional rep would have never made up a fake score to get my money. They would have said let her do the test first and then come to us. In conclusion. I am actually filling out my forms myself now as its quite simple and anyone can do it themselves if they read the guide. Below is the email message she sent me.

      Hello Alex,

It was a pleasure to meet with you today regarding your fiance’s immigration to Canada.
As per our conversation today I am so thrilled that she qualifies for the Express Entry program under the Federal Skilled worker category. I have assessed her score at 434 CRS with her 2 years of work experience, according to the information you had provided me with. May 4th draw was at 423 points. So it is very good news for you both! Congratulations! I would advise you to take up this opportunity as soon as possible while the numbers are dropping before they increase again.

The legal fee we had discussed for this process is $2000 CAD + tax.

Then once you get the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for the second stage to become a Permanent Resident the legal fee is $2,000 CAD + tax.

If you should decide that you would prefer to go with other options like a Visitor visa and a Spousal Sponsorship, we would be happy to prepare those processes for you both as well.

I have attached the engagement agreement for her Express Entry application, as well as the credit card authorization form. Please fill out the information, sign the agreement, and return it to me with a copy of your government issued ID so that we may start your application as soon as possible. Then our legal team will be in contact with you in 48 business hours to help you with your case.
Thank you for choosing VisaPlace / Niren & Associates to represent you with your immigration matters.
Once again, we appreciate you for contacting us. Our legal team will do everything in their power to make your application process as smooth as possible.

      Have a wonderful day!

An Update to my status with regards to my refund from Visa Place

About a week ago I set up a time to go and meet the director of intake Mr. George Skodras at Visa Place by Young/ Eglington in Toronto directly in person. After my consultation with M. Scodras and after explaining the situation more in depth, Mr. Scodras was able to address the situation and offered to issue me a full refund. During the past few months and or for the duration of time that I used Visa Place as my immigration representatives, only 2 people were actually quite helpful and stood up to the plate and always replied back to my emails promptly. Those 2 individuals were Miss Asal Davari (hence) the human resource manager and Mr. George Scodras (hence) the director of intake.

A special thank you to both on my end, particularly to Mr. Scodras to which case was more than understanding, kind, considered and the person of course to which case processed my refund. He was a gentleman all the way.

The most inconsiderate, arrogant and least helpful candidate in this company to which case also holds the title Director Of Legal Operations and Compliance was Miss Bobbi Marshall. She should definitely be demoted from her position. She was not only rude and not helpful but she used profanity and absurd language towards me claiming that I was an awful person with no respect for women to which case not only wasn’t necessary but absolutely unprofessional for a person who holds the title she does in the company. She is simply a rude, arrogant, feminist and a misandrist herself who hates men.

Regardless my advice for those who have a sponsor living in Canada who wants to sponsor them is.

Don’t pay an immigration consultant firm $4500 to fill out just 4 applications for you. If your spouse or common-law partner has no children or grand children all you need is four PDF applications to fill out. There is no reason for you to pay a law and or immigration consultant firm $4500 of your money just to fill out four applications. You can easily do it yourself. The applications you need for the Family class Spouse sponsorship are IMM 5406 and IMM0008 to be filled out by the sponsored applicant and Application IMM1344 and IMM 5532 to be filled out by the sponsor. The full guide how to fill out these applications is at Guide IMM5289. The link is listed below. It is very simple, if you can simply understand English don’t waste your money.

Note to All. Please do not use this Firm as they are professional con artists.

Officially I signed up with this con artist of an immigration consult firm named Visa place around April or May of 2017 as I wanted to bring my current spouse to Canada via express entry under Federal Skilled Worker Program. After my wife had her IELTS and TEF tests completed abroad and due to a lower score on two of the language test categories, we both decided to change the route and proceed with spousal sponsorship instead. Now up on signing up with this immigration firm, I clearly mentioned to their rep Angelika Pavlou that should she score be too low on the IELTS or TEF, we would like to pursue this matter further through spousal sponsorship instead. Miss Angelika Pavlou clearly agreed and mentioned that they’ll charge me $2500 right away as of the initial payment for Express entry and if I decide to pursue express entry I have to pay another 2500 towards the second stage of this program to which case I agreed too. She also clearly mentioned that if Ii decided to go ahead with spousal sponsorship instead that the rate for that would be $2500 and I can put that initial payment towards spousal sponsorship instead. SO far so good. Today Dec 12th 2017 I get a call also email from Miss Bobbi Marshal (hence) their director of legal operations stating that I’ve already reached my retainer capacity and the $2500 I paid has already been used up as I have made phone calls and emails to which case ended costing me $2500. This firm charged you money every time a consultant answers a question via email also every time you have a brief conversation with on of the immigration consultants assistants.

So, to summaries all this up. From the time I signed up with them, I had

One initial meeting with immigration rep named Angelika Pavlou which charged me $2500
One phone conversation with Immigration consultants Hishge Bessey
A few phone calls and emails with Jorge miss Hishge Bessey’s assistant
One 15 min in person consultation with immigration consultant not lawyer Miss Lauren Shannan (hence) they changed my consultant from Miss Hishge and I ended up with another consultant named Shannon Lauren to which case I approved of on my end.
A few emails and phone conversations with Miss Shannan Laurens assistant Miss Liu

This pretty much costed me $2500.

No initial paperwork at all was ever filed for my wife in terms Express entry or spousal sponsorship.

SO they have already charged me $2500 and want another $4000 from me to continue with my spousal sponsorship. Below I’ve attached a copy of the message sent to me by Miss Bobby Marshal their director of legal operations.

    Bobbi Marshall

    to me, George
    Hello Alexander,
Further to our conversation of today’s date, I am copying in George Scodras who will be able to assist you in retaining our services for a Spousal Sponsorship.
As discussed, although you did originally retain our firm for an Express Entry, there are no funds remaining on this retainer to be transferred at this time.
The regular fee for a Spousal Sponsorship is CND 4,900 but as per our discussion, I did quote you CND 4,000.
Should you chose to continue, with a Spousal Sponsorship, please ensure that you read all of the agreements you sign carefully to avoid any future confusion. Please also note that the same requirements in place for your current communications will remain: correspondence should be restricted to your services and not personal or unrelated issues.

    Bobbi Marshall, BA (Hons), J.D.
Director of Legal Operations & Compliance

    1:34 PM (1 hour ago)
    to Bobbi
I’ll be waiting for an email from Mr. George Scordras or a phone call. SO according to our phone conversation to which case I recorded I have to pay an extra $1500 on top of the $2500 I paid already for a few phone calls and email questions to which case officially no paper work was filed on Visa places on my end for express entry.

    Bobbi Marshall
    2:00 PM (1 hour ago)
    to me,
Please refer to your recording for clarification. I was very clear in my statement that it will not be an additional $1,500. It will be an additional $4,000.
I believe you have already been provided with a statement of account outlining your EE retainer. If you would like it resent, please let me know.

Was looking into getting Canadian TRP. Filled out online questionnaire and received a call. They told me I could schedule a consultation with an immigration attorney to discuss my matter and it would be $49. I said ok and scheduled for the next day. The person I in fact was scheduled to speak with WAS NOT AN ATTORNEY! I was only allowed to speak with an “immigration consultant” who seemed extremely unknowledgeable about my situation, the laws regarding my situation and what the chances of approval are. The only email I received from him stated basic information that I already knew by doing simple google searches. I informed him I didn’t feel like I was given anything I didn’t already know and that they misrepresented their services by claiming I was able to speak with an attorney and that I wanted a refund if I couldn’t speak with the attorney. His response was that he relayed information directly from the attorney and basically claiming that was good enough

    • Michael says:

      Hello Dennis:

We left you a voicemail earlier this morning and wanted to connect with you by email as well, as I was quite alarmed by the information conveyed in your very public reviews and posting about VisaPlace and your experience with the company.

I take the claims very seriously and have already extensively looked into the matter. I would like to clear up the issue(s) as you described them and would appreciate it if you would let me know a time that would be preferable for you to have a conversation.

Perhaps best to begin though with addressing some of the specific issues you brought up:

It is clear the initial $49 payment is for a consultation with a licensed immigration consultant—at least it should be. And the option to consult with a lawyer within the firm is always available if desired (that is something that is costed differently and would be communicated to the client). You are always welcome to speak with an attorney when booking the appointment so if that option was not presented to you and you asked then it was most certainly an oversight.

The most relevant issue as I see it from your comments is that you did not feel your questions were satisfactorily answered. And that is something I can be sure to evaluate both at the intake and consultation level. The individual who conducted your original consultation is a licensed immigration consultant who attends continual ongoing training to maintain his status as such.

Given that you feel you did not receive value for your money I would like to propose two options for your consideration:

      1. We will gladly refund you the $49
      2. I have already spoken with one of the firm’s lawyers who would be glad to conduct a new consultation on your behalf at no cost

Please let me know which of these options you would prefer and we will make the necessary arrangements.

Furthermore, I am still interested in speaking with you at your convenience to hear more colour and detail around the experience as the feedback will be invaluable on a going forward basis.

We look forward to hearing your reply.

      • Dennis says:

I realize that the actions of one employee do not speak for the company itself so I will edit my initial review. Top management reached out to me after and were very diligent is trying to resolve my concerns. They offered to allow me to speak with an attorney. It is unfortunate that didn’t happen before the “immigration consultant” made me upset so I didn’t really want to do business with them anymore. My business was strictly a phone “consultation” and I wasn’t interested in continuing that relationship so top management offered me a refund of my consultation fee, which they didn’t have to do. In all fairness, an edit of the review is deserved and they should gain back some level of trust.

My opinion is that the “consultants” aren’t the most educated and in my experience I knew more about my situation than he did. They need better training to answer questions or how to handle customers who aren’t happy with their level of service. I also suggest the company be more clear that they are scheduling “consultants”, not attorneys. Fine print at the bottom of the page isn’t good enough in my opinion.

Thank you for resolving my issues.
