UniCan Immigration – Possible scammers
UniCan Immigration provides services for you to immigrate to Canada, Spain, Portugal, USA, the UK, Hungary, Bulgaria, St Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda and Grenada. From what we can understand, UniCan Immigration was set up by Mehran Halavi in 2013. He is also the CEO of IranTo, www.iranto.ca, which is an Iranian immigration company that helps people immigrate to Canada.
Mehran was born in Tehran, Iran and graduated from Capilano University in Vancouver, Canada. He is also registered with the ICCRC and in good standing with the organisation. His RCIC number is R506545, this number is not given on the website, and we found it on UniCan Immigration’s Google + page.
The website itself is very basic and provides barely any information about immigrating to all the countries that they offer. Another concern that we found on their website is that they say that they have lawyers that will help you with your immigration process. But they provide no names of lawyers or immigration agents. UniCan Immigration has servicing consultants in Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and Europe. Some of the statements made on the website seem a little too good to be true.
On the website they say that they will help you immigrate in the smoothest fashion, helping you along the way with everything. But there are client testimonials on their website or online anywhere. This immediately raised a red flag with us as it is quite suspicious.
There are no social media links on the UniCan Immigration website so we did a little digging and found that there is a Facebook page but it only has 610 likes and its last post was on 11 July. We could not find any other social media pages. Mehran Halavi does have a LinkedIn profile but once again the information on his page is very limited and does not provide any insight to UniCan Immigration.
The website for UniCan Immigration was created in April of 2010 but the company was only formed in 2013. The reason for this could be that the website was bought and modified to suit UniCan Immigration.
We have some questions
UniCan Immigration claims to provide immigration assistance to 12 different countries, yet there is no indication of agents experienced in the immigration process for any of these countries. The only “evidence” provided is an RCIC number for Canada. What about the other 11 countries?
On the website and on Mehran Halavi’s LinkedIn profile the address for the UniCan Immigration office is Suite 103-350 Harbourside Drive, North Vancouver, British Columbia. But then the address provided for the number and location that you call for assistance is 1000 rue de la Gauchetiere Ouest, Suite 2400 Montreal, QC H3B 4W5, Canada. The distance between Vancouver and Montreal is 3684.30km or 2289.38 miles. There are also only telephone numbers and fax numbers provided for contact purposes, no e-mail addresses.
On the UniCan Immigration website they say that they have Canadian lawyers that are recognised by the Canadian Bar Associations but they do not say which associations. They do not indicate who these lawyers are either. The RCIC number is also not provided on the website but on Google + and there is no link for the Google + page.
We are quite suspicious about UniCan Immigration as they provide you with limited information about what they do or who they really are. On their website they say that they have Canadian lawyers but on their Google + page they indicate that Mehran Halavi is an RCIC agent.
There is very little social media presence and there are absolutely no client testimonials. We would advise you to proceed with extreme caution as this company may be a possible scamster.
