Swimming in an Oasis of doubt
This independent immigration consultancy claims to “redefine the prospect to immigrate” with their so-called efficient immigration services. Oasis Resource Management Pvt. Ltd (ORMPL) was apparently first established in 2000 and is said to have 16 years’ experience in the immigration industry by offering assistance to immigrate to Canada, Australia, UK, USA and Denmark. With their target market being mostly Indian, they have branches in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
Even though Oasis Management claim to be in touch with national and international lawyers and RCIC members, they do not provide the names of these individuals, much less any indication of a RCIC number. Who handles their immigration applications then?
The Website & Services
According to their website, Oasis Management concentrate mostly on permanent residency, education, work permits and recruitment. They offer free assessments on the site and you’ll also find insights on each of the visa programs Canada has to offer as well as the requirements that you’ll need to apply for an online visa. However, when we go to their ‘services’ tab, we came up empty. It seems that Oasis Management neglected to fill some of these pages with content, leaving us very concerned. If their services page is empty, how are we to know exactly what we will be buying into?
Oasis Management have a very clear and comprehensive terms and conditions page, with several other pages explaining all of their individual policies like the refund policy. In this document, it states that they will not provide full refunds if [their] documentation department finds that information provided is incorrect during [the] consultation process, which led to the case being refused. No refund on GOI Taxes or service fees or embassy fees or courier fees or shipping charges will be refunded after receiving the documents and the application process has begun. In other words; no refunds!
Another concerning factor we picked up in their terms and conditions was the following statement:
Requirements and fees related to the consultation process of visas are subject to change without notice or update, application forms and additional documents required for visa issuance can change without notice. As per governing body rules processing time period for visas and passport quoted by ORMPL are based on normal circumstances and are deemed reliable in most cases but are not guaranteed. ORMPL will not be held responsible for any delays, cancellations, financial and other losses due to denial or delay in processing.
Firstly, if they are to change their pricing with no prior notice, shouldn’t the immigrant be notified of additional charges? Secondly, if they are the ones dealing with these processes, then who else should be liable for delays if they have all of the necessary documents?
Even though the site is relatively easy to navigate, we found it somewhat annoying that it had two pop-ups on the bottom of the page. We also found that the homepage was unnecessarily busy but we do appreciate that they made all of these resources and information available for the immigrant.
Social Media & Online Review
Oasis Management seem to have a very large following on both Facebook and Twitter. Their feeds are regularly updated with relevant content but we noted that they had few online reviews. Contrary to the testimonials on their site which showcases nothing but stellar reviews of their service and reputation, we found one displeased user on Facebook who had not had his queries resolved. In addition to this, we were also contacted by another user who had a similar experience. Do they deliver at all?
How their service has received an 85% success rate is up for discussion. After reviewing Oasis Management Pvt. Ltd, we are only left with more questions! Who are their RCIC members? Who handles their immigration applications? What exactly does their service entail?
