CIS – New and Improved

CIS stands for Canadian Immigration Services, formerly known as Best Immigration Services Inc. We have already done a review on another company called Canadian Immigration Services but the logo is not the same and nor is the RCIC agent.

CIS is based in Toronto, Ontario and is headed up by Adham Slataroff, who immigrated to Canada when he was 18 years old. Adham is the President of the company as well as an RCIC agent. His RCIC number (R508178) is provided on the website and he does check out as a legitimate RCIC agent.

Adham attended and graduated from Cape Breton University Business Program on the Dean’s list and the he graduated from Humber College with Honours. Adham is multilingual and speaks English, French, Spanish and Arabic.

The Website

The website for CIS is very basic and could do with some work as the writing is very small and a little blurry. We struggled to read the information on the website and we often found ourselves squinting. Another fault that we spotted right off the bat was the lack of important online documents like a privacy policy, refund policy and a terms and conditions.

As we have already said, the website for CIS needs a lot of work and the different Canadian visa applications could have more information about each of them. These few extra touches may help the website to look more professional.

One thing that CIS does indicate on their website is that they are a multilingual company:

  • Afrikaans
  • Albanian
  • Arabic
  • Bulgarian
  • English
  • Farsi
  • French
  • Portuguese
  • Spanish
  • Romanian
  • Russian

This is all good and well but who are the other staff members at CIS? Adham is the only person that is mentioned on the website. Another service that CIS offers its clients is their litigation services that may be needed in hearings and appeals before the Immigration and Refugee Board.

Social Media

There are social media links on the website for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google + but the only link that works is the Facebook page link.

The Facebook page is still under the immigration company’s old name, Best Immigration Services Inc., with the old logo too. This seems a bit odd, if they went to the trouble of changing the company’s name, why not correct the Facebook page too?

However, the Facebook page was created in 2013 and it has over 8500 likes. The last post to the page is from the 30th of June 2014. The posts are relevant to Canadian immigration and Canada, but they are not regular at all.

We were unable to find a Twitter account for CIS or Best Immigration Services Inc. but we did find an account for Adham Slataroff. The account doesn’t have much on it.

We also found a personal LinkedIn account for Adham Slataroff, but once again there isn’t much but basic information on the account.

Our Conclusion

CIS seems to be a legitimate immigration company based in Canada. Adham Slataroff is a legitimate RCIC agent and his RCIC number checks out. There are a few faults with the website that can be easily rectified but the lack of important online documents is worrying.

If you have dealt with CIS, please leave a comment below and tell us about your experience with this immigration company.
