Justin Trudeau Breaths Hope into Canada
The new Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has been linked to words like hope and change. In a time when everything around us is so unstable and we are uncertain about so many aspects of our lives, it is comforting to know that there is someone that is willing to fight for the rights of the people.
The Liberal Party won the 2015 Canadian Election by a landslide victory and in so doing they ended the Conservative Party of Canada’s (CPC) 10 year rule. The man that could instil hope in millions of Canadians is Justin Trudeau.
The Liberal Party and Justin Trudeau have promised many things but what Trudeau has said about immigration is the most exciting. Trudeau said the Liberal government would “absolutely not” prioritise religious and ethnic minorities.
In the recent months we have witnessed the turmoil that the people of Syria have been put through and many of these Syrians have been seeking refuge in Canada. Trudeau slammed the former Prime Minister for vetting Syrian refugees who had applied to resettle in Canada.
Trudeau has a deep desire to continue supporting immigrants and Canadians of all cultures and he has said that the Liberal government would support the immediate processing of 25 000 Syrian refugees. An investment of $100 million has been set aside to help Canada resettle and process refugees more quickly.
Trudeau has also vowed to end the Conservatives’ push to ban women wearing a niqab during citizenship ceremonies.
What does this mean for immigration?
Justin Trudeau has made it clear that he wants to change the way that the CPC has done things and he has already indicated that the immigration process for refugees will be made easier.
You may ask if this applies to all immigration processes and it does. Trudeau has made it clear that he wants the immigration process to be simplified.
We at Canadian Visa Review think that we are going to see many interesting and exciting changes to the Canadian immigration system.
